History
From Biker Roots to a Global Ministry: The Journey of Bikers for Christ
About Bikers for Christ Motorcycle Ministry
Bikers for Christ Motorcycle Ministry (BFC MM) was started in August 1990 in Marysville, California, by Pastor Fred Zariczny (known as Pastor Z). He believed the ministry should be connected to a church to stay true to biblical principles.
Before becoming a Christian in 1977, Pastor Z was involved with non-Christian motorcycle clubs in Massachusetts, Arizona, and Alaska. After his conversion, he paused his biking activities to attend Bible college, get married, and start a family. In 1979, he felt called to return to motorcycling, using his passion to help start or support at least four motorcycle ministries. During the early 1980s, he served as an elder in Christ’s Motor Club in Los Angeles and as the Alaska state president of the International Christian Biker Association (ICBA) for four years. He also led the California Chapter of Christ’s Disciples and worked as a senior pastor at Calvary Chapel in Northern California.
After years of involvement in Christian motorcycle clubs, Pastor Z founded a new ministry called Bikers for Christ Motorcycle Ministry (BFC MM). This ministry was designed to be different from typical motorcycle clubs, focusing on serving others without using hierarchical titles like “president” or “vice-president,” which could lead to pride.

I am the founder of the Bikers for Christ International Motorcycle Ministry and blessed to be the pastor of Rushing Wind Church in Oceanside. A friendly church founded on God’s Word, music, fellowship, and prayer where ANYONE would feel welcomed.
Spreading the Gospel: A Growing Global Network of Faithful Riders
In the beginning, BFC MM grew through word-of-mouth and Pastor Z’s travels on his motorcycle, often accompanied by other dedicated members who helped establish chapters. Today, word-of-mouth remains the main way new members join. Over the years, BFC MM has expanded with chapters in nearly every U.S. State, Canadian Province, and many countries worldwide. Pastor Z also started Rushing Wind Ministries Churches, now operating in seven states.
Each BFC MM chapter operates under the guidance of an elder and a local church. State and Regional Elders oversee activities, and a small group of National Elders supports Pastor Z in setting policies and guiding the ministry’s work.
The goal of BFC MM is to continue spreading the Gospel within the biker community and beyond. Members focus on helping those in need, providing spiritual support, and sharing God’s message wherever they go.
